General Information

Genola is a rural town located in the southwest portion of Utah County. Most residents own small family farms or hobby farms, and a number of farmers raise alfalfa, barley, and other crops. Several dairies and a few orchards dot the community.

In 2000, Genola had 965 residents, but geographically it was almost as large as Spanish Fork and Springville (nearly four square miles). Genola is third in sheer size among Utah towns with populations under 1,000 and has more than 26 miles of roads. Genola's population has continued a slow, but steady growth during the last ten years, averaging a 1.9% average annual rate of change. With 4.49 people per household and a median age of 21.6 years, Genola's 224 households are among the youngest and largest in the county.
